Poker Dealer Training
Michael

Meet Your Instructor

Hi, I’m Michael — and I’ve been a professional poker dealer for over a decade. I began my journey in the industry at just 20 years old, and today, I’m proud to say poker has given me a career, a community, and a better quality of life.

When I moved to Texas, my goal was to become a strong floor supervisor and earn a leadership role in poker room management. But over time, I discovered that my true passion lies in teaching — especially working with people who are motivated to learn and grow in the game.

Dealing is more than just a job. It’s a discipline, a skill, and a door into one of the most exciting industries in Texas. I’ve helped dozens of students get started or sharpen their skills, and I’d be honored to help you take your first steps into the poker world.

If you’re serious about becoming a poker dealer, there’s never been a better time — and no better place than Texas.

The entire course is 8 weeks long.
(16 classes)

Beginner classes. $450

Weeks 1 & 2  (4 classes)

Everyone starts off with the beginner portion of the class. We go over all of the fundamental mechanics you'll be using every day as a professional poker dealer.

By the end of the first two weeks you'll have a strong understanding of Texas Hold 'em & Omaha. Under fixed limit, no limit, and pot limit. With an emphasis on game protection and professional standards.

Advanced Classes $550
Weeks 3-8  (12 classes)

If you continue into the advanced portion of the course, this is where you’ll get the practice reps needed to build real confidence. You’ll train inside an actual poker room, rotating in and out of the box while simulating live games with your classmates. These sessions naturally present the kinds of real scenarios you’ll encounter on the job, helping you develop both technical skills and professional awareness.

This isn’t just a crash course — it’s legitimate training that gives you experience before your first official audition.

Games you’ll learn to deal:

  • Texas Hold’em

  • Pineapple / Crazy Pineapple

  • Omaha

  • Big O

  • 7 Card Stud

  • Razz

  • 5 Card Triple Draw

  • Badugi / Badeucey / Badacey

There is a halfway audition to assess your progress and identify any areas that need improvement. It also gives you a real preview of what a professional audition feels like.

At the end of the program, you’ll take a final audition. If you pass, you’ll earn a certificate of completion and be ready to begin your career as a professional poker dealer.

Please note:

Texas Poker Culture cannot offer direct employment at poker rooms. However, completing the full course and passing the final audition may open doors to private event work. You’ll be able to list your certificate on a resume, and use Michael (the instructor) as a reference. If opportunities arise, you’ll be notified — and we’ll do everything in our power to help you find work.
